报告人简介
   孙建伟教授,2004年毕业于南京大学,获得硕士学位,随后在美国芝加哥大学(The University of Chicago)攻读博士学位。2008年,进入麻省理工学院(MIT) Gregory C. Fu小组进行博士后研究。2010年,进入香港科技大学。2015年起担任副教授。获得的奖项包括Thieme Chemistry Journal Award(Thieme化学期刊奖)、多次获得Asian Core Program Lectureship Award(亚洲核心计划报告奖)。目前的研究领域主要集中在有机合成中的不对称催化。近年来,在Chem. Rev.,J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem., Int. Ed.等期刊发表文章40余篇。


报告摘要
While epoxides have been well utilized in organic synthesis, their four-membered ring homologues, oxetanes, have been much less exploited. 


Due to the lower ring strain, the reactivity of oxetanes has been less established. 


In particular, catalytic asymmetric opening of the prochiral 3-substitued oxetanes have remained challenging due to difficult remote stereocontrol and the reduced ring-opening propensity. 


Nevertheless, enabled by chiral Brønsted acid catalysis, our laboratory has developed a series of highly enantioselective intermolecular and intramolecular ring-opening processes of oxetanes, leading to the efficient synthesis of a range of chiral building blocks. 


Moreover, with proper design, oxetanes have also been utilized as either substrates or intermediates in a number of new processes for the synthesis of medium lactones. The reaction details, including mechanisms and scope, will be presented.
