Abstract:
Olefins are attractive building blocks for organic synthesis. In this talk, I will discuss recent advances in transition-metal-catalyzed regio- and enantioselective functionalization of simple and easily available olefins. First, palladium-catalyzed regiodivergent coupling of aryl halides and prenylmetal species will be introduced. These processes provide a convenient means to access both the prenylated and the reverse prenylated aromatic compounds with high level of regiochemical fidelity. Second, copper-catalyzed asymmetric hydrofunctionalization of olefins will be presented. Through the catalytic generation of enantioenriched organocopper intermediates from olefin precursors, these methods allow for the rapid assembly of biologically important amines and alcohols in a regio- and stereoselective fashion.

报告人简介

杨扬,2011年在北京大学取得学士学位, 2015年在Massachusetts Institute of Technology获得博士学位,导师Stephen L. Buchwald教授,2015年至今先后在Massachusetts Institute of Technology和University of California, Berkeley从事博士后研究。研究成果以第一作者在Science(2), J. Am. Chem. Soc. (2), Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. (5)等期刊发表。获得奖励:Outstanding Graduating Student of Peking University, 2011; MIT Moore Fellowship, 2011-2012; Graduate Travel Grant Sponsored by Prof. Gregory C. Fu, 2015;Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Aboard, 2016.
