Brief Biography
Dominique Armspach was born in Mulhouse (France) in 1965. As a former student of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Mulhouse, he joined Professor J. F. Stoddart’s group at the University of Birmingham in 1990, where he completed his Ph.D. on the synthesis of catenated cyclodextrins in 1994. He then spent two and a half years at the University of Basle (Switzerland) as a post-doctoral fellow and teaching assistant in Professor E. Constable’s laboratory before becoming lecturer in Organic Chemistry at the Université Robert Schuman in Strasbourg in September 1996. In 2003, he was habilitated to conduct independent research (habilitation à diriger des recherches) by the Université Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg and was promoted professor in Organic Chemistry four years later at the University of Strasbourg. His present inter- ests focus on synthetic methology, supramolecular chemistry, organometallic chemistry and catalysis associated with molecular receptors. D. Armspach has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals and holds 1 paten.
